I’ve honestly been writing about this shit for far too long and the more I write about it, the more angry I get. Could explain why my blood pressure is through the roof and because Macron decided to fuck over the sécu, not only has my mutuelle costs exploded (I’m both employer and employee) but cardiogrammes aren’t cheap to start off with, let alone when barely half is now covered.
ANYWAYS, I recently spotted a much smarter internaute than myself who put together a tarpit for crawlers. Considering my tiny website does nothing but serve to give content to yet another LLM that doesn’t respect anything, or fucking Facebook and Bytedance DDoSing for the lolz.
With every new and exciting shit fuckery that comes out of America’s Greatest Export™ Christofacism® I add another platform on to the strike list.
Have you ever tried leaving CloudFlare when you have DNSSEC stuck on your domain, not easy. I’m trying though, mmn.ca is using another company that actually seems to have values but since they’re not 10% of the internet, there is a cost.
This is kind of a bullshit situation to be in, no matter what agressive tactics I take to stop these bots from trying to wipe my site off the internet they just keep at it. I could go without an upstream solution, and that kind of worked, but admittedly I still have a problem but it isn’t as bad as a problem I did have without Deflect in the way.
All this so I can write some words on the internet that you may or may not be reading fellow human which I do for my own personal desires. Kind of like making sand castles where 1% of people on the beach applaud your work and the remaining 99% take a shit on your head then claim they made the sand castle.
Clearly this topic is just my personal rage bait because I nearly forgot why I’m here, its because I’ve been thinking about creating something purely hostile to these bots, so I did and I created a little website using the tarpit, project honeypot, and because I don’t really care about stupid bots – CloudFlare.
Right now it isn’t being used to its full potential in adding slop into LLM models and I’m still needing to tweak the settings but it is a start and it makes me feel good.
